Biography The Wade family always had a strong connection to military operations whether it was serving within the Colonial Fleet as an officer or helping to construction the ships which were put into service so it was no surprise when Oscar Niles Wade continued the tradition and became a maintenance officer at the main shipyards at Scorpia. He enjoyed the work, the variation each day had and took pride in the finished product but always felt like he missed something. It was always his wish to one day serve aboard one of those mighty ships but due to health issues he was unable to do so.
Instead, he made a promise to himself that if he had children in his life then he would imprint onto them the military desire, the family name which was largely military. It took a while but eventually he met someone during a maintenance accident on the shipyards which as a price set back repairs on a Battlestar several days. At this time, Lilith or Lily as everyone called her was a medical practitioner and the medical officer for Scorpia shipyards so it was due to an unfortunately accident that Lily and Oscar met each other.
Within two years of being together, they were getting married on Poseidon, the Wade family home colony. It wasn’t too long into the marriage when Lily feel pregnant, a baby girl who they so badly wanted for various reasons. Of course Oscar wanted a boy, believing that it would be easier to share his stories from his own life with a boy rather than with a girl. But that all changed when they had their daughter nine months later.
Evangeline was her name and from that day forth she was given the best life both parent’s could provide her but because of schedule problems and other commitments neither was able to properly devote time to their daughter. She began to fell neglected which wasn’t truth but that was just how she felt at such a young age. Eva didn’t understand responsibilities yet. Her parent’s did their best but unfortunately neither wanted to leave their work. Oscar like most Wade family members had the service in his blood so he had no intention to leave until he had to. Lily was someone that always devoted herself to helping the sick and needed so she couldn’t abandon that calling.
So at the age of six, Evangeline was placed into care in Devotion City on Virgon, her mother having connections to a few temples so she knew they would be giving their daughter a life she deserved to have. One full of attention and a better education than either parent could give. It was the hardest thing to do but they wanted to provide their daughter with something, everything she deserved.
She started her schooling in Devotion City where she studied hard believing that the only way to be strong was through knowledge. Her parent’s had visiting rights so she still had a regular contact with them so she still had that relationship just not one she had hoped for all her childhood. It was surprising but her parent’s had imparted some qualities onto her, she was devoted to helping others, making sure everyone was treated fairly at school and when they weren’t she would make sure that it was dealt with promptly and properly.
At the temple where she was raised, Evangeline grew into a beautiful, strong independent woman with a lot of drive in herself. She was referred to several times over the years as a vision of beauty and someone that had a strong connection to Aphrodite. It wasn’t something she strongly believed in but she respected it nevertheless.
Devotion City College was where she spent two years studying Economics and it was something she strongly had an interest in. She learned about the world from a different angle. When she turned eighteen she was legally able to make her own decisions whether to stay at the temple or move on and after some careful thinking she decided to return home where both her parents resided and continue her studies there. She worked out an agreement with the Poseidon Public Academy which allowed her to continue studying for her Masters in Economics while at the same time she enrolled into the Poseidon Military Academy on Aquaria. Her father’s influence albeit small had an impact and she strongly felt the Colonial Fleet was the best place for her, a place where she could continue to grow and mature.
She was spread over two courses, one civilian and one military but somehow she managed to find the balance and kept it all together for two grueling years of studies in both worlds. At the end of those two years she graduated with a Masters in Economics and also a Bachelor’s in Administration. She felt both could be combined and used for some purpose in the Colonial Fleet.
However her practical use of those acquired skills and knowledge was placed on hold as she registered for Aviation Training or more commonly known as flight school. She wasn’t afraid of flying, she actually looked forward to it but at the same time she had reservations about where a career in piloting would take her in the Colonial Fleet. She didn’t want to waste her qualifications on pure flying. She buckled down and got on with it anyway, hoping that she could get best those reservations in time.
It took a while before she found the feel for flying and it was incredible. She knew that other Wade’s had been in the cockpit before but she felt like she had accomplished something impossible. Her father, Oscar was overjoyed when he in his latter years attended his daughter’s graduation from flight school. It was something he always wanted to do but couldn’t, his daughter did and he was so proud of that.
After her graduation from Aviation School, Evangeline Wade a fresh cadet was placed initially on a ground assignment but after several months of excellent service she received new orders to join a squadron onboard a Battlestar, her first Battlestar to serve on. It took a little time for her to settle, her lack of sharing personal details was hindering but she masked that with her outgoing chirpy personality which she had built from scratch after her hard childhood. She learned more everyday she sat in the cockpit and also about herself, what she was going to be eventually. The skies were the limits for Wade who had been given a rather flattering callsign of Siren purely because of her time spent at Devotion City. It was something she never fully got used to but still accepted from the other pilots who she had befriended in her few years onboard.
Eva served aboard the Battlestar Solaria for about five years as a Lieutenant before she received a rather surprising new assignment Tauron where she would be assisting in the form of a Logistics officer. She was responsible for overseeing recruits welfare, making sure that everything was running smoothly and that mostly importantly, everyone was happy at the Tauron Military Academy. This position lasted for about a year and a half before she was returned to a more active position onboard the Battlestar Avalon as the Logistics officer.
When the Cylon's attacked the colonies, destroyed humanity or tried to, Evangeline seemed to be disturbed by the event, even after the escape from the known space, she was still acting normal until an apparent identical twin was seen in old records and tapes scavenged from the attacks. Immediately she was taken prisoner out of suspicion she was a human formed Cylon. Since that discovery of Cylon's looking like humans, Evangeline Wade, former Captain has been isolation in a prison built solely for her.
