Each Colony is allowed one Colonial Military Academy for which officers would receive a commission and an academic degree upon completion after four years. Academies are not all created equally, but do meet the minimum standards set by the Ministry of Defense of the Colonies. They all have their own traditions as reflected by their host Colony.

The inspiration for the Colonial Academies is based on the five U. S. Service Academies.
